Gathering Together Safely

We are gathering together twice weekly to read the Bible, sing songs based upon the Bible, and preach and pray from the Bible. We encourage all members and guests to practice good social hygiene. We have face masks, hand sanitizer, and communion supplies available at our main entrance. You can find the most up-to-date information about our services and events on our Facebook page.

Our Vision

We see Campton Baptist Church growing together in love and truth, into Christ and on mission.

we believe

Gospel in 3 Circles

Beloved, if God has so loved us, we also ought to love one another

I John 4:11

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive an inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

Colossians 3:23-24

learning from our past… looking to our future

The church was started before Wolfe County was formed or before Campton became a town. First planted as Swift’s Camp Church, in July of 1848, its name has been changed at least 6 times, including  4 times during the American Civil War. The original building on the present site was constructed in 1896 with the current worship and educational spaces added in 1956.

Since the 1950’s we have been affiliated with Kentucky Baptist and Southern Baptist Conventions. Through the cooperative program and missions offerings, we continue to support missions at the local, state, national, and global level. We also partner with fellow churches and other non-profits to show Jesus’ love to our community in our yearly ministries.
